Almost all WWII aircraft came in two seat versions for training purposes.what is a simple explanation for how planes stay in the air?
Yes. How funny that all these idiots say no when they have no clue.Any decent flight schools hiring??
In 1948 the designation P(pursuit)-51 was changed to F(fighter)-51. The photo-recon version was F-6D. Sometime after 1948 some were fitted with a back seat for training and called TRF-51D. I don't think any WWII models were 2 seaters, because they had an 85 gallon gas tank behind the pilot. One fellow said almost all came with 2 seats for training. P47. P40, and F4U Corsairs never had 2 seatswhat's the fastest plane on earth?
I flew in the back seat of a two seater P51D in Melbourne, Australia. It was a special modification though. Rego VH-BOB. the P51D did not come as a 2 seater off the line in WWIIIm thinking about taking helicopter lessons, Does anyone know if the course is very difficult?
There were many trainer two-seater variants and many were converted for specific purposes. And there is the Cavalier Mustang variants TF-51 which is a post-war production.Dont know if the F-82 counts, but it is indeed named "Twin Mustang"

As others have said, there were (and are) a number of two-seat P-51 Mustangs. North American flew a dual seat version of the P-5!B and there were a number of field conversion; currently there is one original TF-51D flying and a number of others have been modified to take a passenger. How do I listen to O'hare air traffic control on the internet?
Picking up on Eferrell_01's post. He is correct (as far as I know) about the Corsair; but Curtiss produced a number of TP-40 trainers and Republic made a very small number of TP-47G trainers; one of these, 42-25068/N47DG , has recently moved to the UK and is being restored for flight by The Fighter Collection at Duxford.

The Corsair did have a trainer variant as well. I used to work at an air museum and had acess to archives in which i've seen several different pics of two seaters. I will see if there are any internet links..What are the principle materials used in semiconductors?

I seem to recall reading of a company in Florida that had some Mustangs with the two seat configutation and dual controls. That would be a seriously cool thing to try out.
