Landing a plane?

Question:
how do i find a list or directory to land a light aircraft on private or public lakes? I am thinking of affixing pontoons to my light craft but wonder if the trouble is worth it. I would like to go exploring but don't want to face faa penalties.

Why do they make planes so large?

No directory exists. Other than seaplane bases depicted on the sectional (see your AFD as well)You will have to check with whom ever owns the water way you wish to use. Also you will be required to add the sea plane rating to legally fly/land with floats.
You might contact http://www.baumannfloats.com/floatmodels...
to locate floats to add on to your plane.
Also the seaplanes pilots assoc could probably have more info

what is the status of boeing pelican? when will it be built?

As far as just putting the pontoons on your aircraft, if its not an experimental aircraft you would need to get an additional rating. I am not sure as far as experimental aircraft.

Is being an Airline Pilot a good job? Do they earn lots?

If you look in your current FAR/AIM Chapter 7: Safety of Flight, section 7-5-8 it pertains to landing seaplanes, etc...

what airplanes where involved with 9/11?

The FAA doesn't regulate where you can land your airplane. In the case of a private lake, permission from the lake owner would be necessary, and a public lake would require permission of the controlling agency. Same with rivers and streams big enough to land a floatplane.

how is alternating current distributed on an aircraft?

The answers above are incorrect.

Why is it important for airlines to have a strong training team?

You need a rating and certification for the aircraft to have floats added. Also you need training on water landings and type certificate training.
Do not do it on your own.
If it is a private lake you CANNOT land unless it is an emergency.
You can land in any public lake as long as you are aware of the rules and regulations, however some areas do prohibit it but that information can be found with the FAA Circulars.
In Canada you can reference the CFS. It is a handbook with all of the water aerodromes and areas you can use to land.
That is standard knowledge for a pilot.

Good Luck

need to know if age and experience as aircraft mechanic in aviation is a must...?

You could find a list of sea plane bases in the AOPA airport directory. It would be good to land at a sea plane base in case you need fuel, and of course you'd need a place to dock.......

How do a airplane fly?

Landing on a lake out side of a marked sea base is NOT a good idea. There's all kinds of wires crossing overhead that will not be marked and will be unseen until you get tangled in one.
