i want to know.. what do the stripes on a pilots shoulder mean? is it your ranking.. and how can you find out what ranking a pilot is by looking at them? or can you? well it is something i have always wanted to know.

Yes the stripes on a pilot's shoulder does show their ranking. It's different for every airline, but generally...4 stripes = captain, 3 stripes = co-pilot or first officer, 2 stripes = second officer, 1 stripe = pilot in training.

Does the Flight Management Computer provide autopilot inputs?

Some airlines have half stripes too!
For example, at Cathay Pacific Airways (which is an airline from Hong Kong), their captains have 4 stripes, senior first officer-relief commander = 3 stripes, first officer = 2 and a half stripes (two thick stripes with one thinner one in between), junior first officer = 2 stripes, and second officer (relief pilot) = 1 stripe.
