Aircraft question?

Question:
Can birds fly faster than areoplanes like a boeing 747

Answers:

The B-25 mitchell?

A 747 like the person before says reaches about Mach 0.80 at cruising, thats quite close to the sound barrier, how many birds have you seen that can break the sound barrier!

Interesting jobs for a pilot?

I am afraid not because as far as i know a 747 can fly at around 945km/ph so that almost mach1 and i dont think a bird can compete against a 747 unless............its tied to it............

How much more fuel efficient is a 777 than a747, a burn between ORD and London for example?

Thanks....hope this helped

Why is it that some runways are built in such a harzardous way?

Gosh, no. Commercial airlines coast along at 300-400 MPH. The fastest bird is the peregrine falcon, which can only manage around 220 MPH, and that's in a free dive.

FAA PPL material?

Swifts and Peregrineb falcons are the fastest birds up to 120mph in a dive, but nothing like a 747 which can get to about 550mph.

Help with aircraft specs for Extra 300?

Of course, I've seen hundreds of birds hurtling past the aeroplanes wing when I've been in 747's , it's a no contest. Some birds can even fly faster than fighter jets!

what is the best airliner and commercial aircraft to you? Why??

I'm sure they cant because a 747 cruises around 300 knots so that's really fast. So its pretty impossible for a bird to catch up.

which is the longest non stop flight? which place?

Of course, when it is just started to take-off roll and creating some lift. According to the FAA, "Fly" is when an aircraft is intended to be flown into the air.

Does anyone know where I can find a glider ride in the SF Bay Area? (East Bay)?

Just hope the damn birds don't fly into the pre-heated glareshield or the engines.

Is there any documented case of a commercial plane crash having been caused by a passenger's smoking?

No. The only exception to this is if they have a get propelled engine attached to their tail.

which plane models do they typically use(for SIA Intl flight and JAL domestic flight)?

Not when the plane has reached its cruising speed.

Where would I find airfoil ordinates for Eppler airfoils?

When the plane is taxing or at the start ,yes.

How does an airplane get up and stay up in the air?

Not on planet Earth, otherwise we might as well put special saddles on (birdback riding), wear breathing aparatus (high altitude) and wear some special suits (pressurization), and say something like "Giddy-up birdie"...if the birds were large enough to carry us.

which are the aircrafts models that can superate the sound speed?

no I was in a cessna yesterday and we flew much faster then those birds

why oval windows aircrafts?

It is very unlikely. A 747 lifts off at around 130-140mph (V1-V2), the slowest flying speed. Since most of the high speed birds are clocked in a dive, it would be hard for him to pass a 747at take-off........unless he has a death wish.

for those who fly SIA (singapore airline)?

no, they are slow and sometimes they get sucked into the engines and they get chopped up so it kinda sucks for them

aircrafts+pictures+names?

lol, fun question. :D no of course not. a 747 can fly very quickly. almost mach 1. i don't even think a bird can really keep up with any jet. maybe some small props that are slow.

How Did Aluminium Plane Wings Enter the World Trade Center ?

NOPE, not even if they'scared...unless they are inside another airplane that is faster than a 747

I am in high school and would like to become a commercial airline pilot for a career. How do I start?

the only bird that can fly faster was speedbird one, but alas no concorde any more.
must not forget the sr71 blackbird either.
