Why AC freq ency 400 Hz is adopted for aircraft elect.system?

Question:

Answers:

Aircraft Separation. Is this a safety breach?

Generators can be smaller and lighter.

Could one become a commercial airline pilot even if they don't have relevent degrees?

The generators and motors can be smaller and lighter. 400Hz power is also much easier to filter when rectified.

how easy is it to fly a microlight?are they safe?

Aircraft systems require higher current ratings to operate the various loads/systems. To accomodate the high power, 20 KW to 100 KW generators into a small aircraft, and also to accomodate, larger size electrical equipment like servos, power dsitributors and electro-mechanical devices, 400 Hz is the chosen frequency. As 400 Hz reduces the size of electrical equipment considerably. 50 Hz would require HUGE aircraft.

What do you need to become a pilot?

Thank u.
