You must be a US citizen, be under 31 years old, be able to pass the physical exam (exam is between a class I and class II medical for pilots), and be able to obtain proper security clearances. At some point you must take the AT-SAT test and score above 70%.

You are required to have a bachellor's degree, U.S. citizenship, be under 31, and speak, read, write and understand english. You will have to pass a medical examination and interview which would then qualify you to take a test. Judging by how well you did on the test the FAA will send you a letter which would get you into the "lottery". Where you could be chosen at random to recieve training to become an air traffic controller. The training then begins in oklahoma city, then continues where ever you are stationed.
