Can anyone tell me if the Beaver seaplane has permanent pontoons?

No they are not permanent, but most are on floats all the time so it seems that way.

The Beaver is equipped with conventional (tail wheel) landing gear and can use skis or amphibious floats (floats with retractable wheels).
