why were the concorde planes scraped?
it never happen to me yet but from what i have heard they provided hotel for your comfort, especially if the company's sudden decision that delay the flight, cancellation or re-schedule, they usually provide some complimentary dinner ticket and sometimes they offer discount for your next trip or free flight locally to ensure the airline company is not going to lose you as prospective future passenger...Are the Pan-Am tickets to the Moon worth anything?
i think its just fair exchange since it inconvenience the passenger. but if you purchase a ticket and cancel it, you are penalized 10% off on the original price, then if you wanted to travel and changed your itinerary, you required to add more money for their inconvenience, usually $100-$150 depends on the urgency of the flight...
Who is the U.S.'s largest producer (refiner) of Jet Fuel?
I will tell you one of my experiences. How much does Avgas 100 cost in the UK please?
I was on an international flight, and while we were taking off one of the engines failed so they had to stop, and get a new aircraft, all the way from europe. So, that would be an overnight wait, so they put us all on busses, brought us to a hotel, everything was paid for by the airline, and then the next day they brought us back on the bus, and we left on the new aircraft.
In my experience, I had a flight that was cancelled due to mechanical problems and ended up camping in the terminal for the night. In todays airline industry they are not responsible for anything. We have a big free for all on a site where you could get alot of info at www.airliners.net look thru the forums alot of airline employees have been voicing thier opinions lately on this subject lol. I hope this helps you out
What does it mean when a airplane pilot indicates "heavy"?
It depends on the Airline. Read the fine print on the back of your ticket. It will probably explain how you are entitled to NOTHING!I need to change the oil in a J3 cub, can anyone give me direction on how to acommplish this?
The airlines are under no obligation to provide you with transportation. They can cancel or switch flights at their own discretion. What you can do is if you go through a travel agency you can buy travel insurance that will cover flight difficulties such as hotel stays or meals. In this world most airports only have "slots" so if an airline misses it slot, they can trade it for another slot or wait till their next scheduled slot and lose one. Same goes for maintenance or clean up, anything could have happened. Maybe someone vomited on the plane and they need a cleaning crew to deodorize the plane or the plane is suffering mechanical difficulties. You as a consumer won't be obligated to know why the flight was canceled or changed. If the flight was cancelled and you were not on your way within 24 hours, the airline is obligated to reimburse you for any additional hotel and food expenses, up to a certain limit. However, this may not apply in international flights. If it was a US carrier, I would certainly raise a stink and try to get something back.
It depends on the airline. I know that Air Canada will provide dinner vouchers if the flight is delayed through a meal and if you are from another place (not a resident of the departing city) they will pay for transportation and nightly rate of an airport hotel.
