how do i find out if there is a violation on a pilot's license?
Some planes can, this is called 'power-back'. Usually turboprops, or rear-mounted engine jets can. Pistons or wing-mounted engine jets cannot.what are addition knoweldge to know by an mechanical student?
u r talking about the toy-plane or the real one dear?looking for the company logos of Southern Air Transport?
Some aircraft can do this, but poor rearward visibility requires that most aircraft be pushed back by an external vehicle.Large commercial aircraft have thrust reversers that would be capable of reversing the aircraft, but thrust reversers are intended for slowing the aircraft down during an after landing roll-out.
How would you escape a boeing 747 jumbo jet?
Some jet engines are equipped with thrust reversers, which direct the jet thrust backwards, usually to slow the aircraft down but can be used to back it up. (regardless of where the engines are mounted)some aircraft with variable-pitch propellers can rotate the blades into a negative pitch, pushing the aircraft back.
why does S.N.A. have 3 different names?
We did it all the time in an OV-1D Mohawkwhere could I find cheap GPS aviation maps and software for Europe to use it in my PDA?
Yes I flew a Cessna Caravan which is a Turbo-prop. It has a reverse thrust setting for landing where the prop twists in the opposite direction. This setting can be used to back up although it is never really necessary because in a plane like that you get the good parking spots :)What year did the Mooney aircraft switch from a wooden spar to metal spar?
Yes they can, It is rarely with a commercial jet aircraft due to the very loud noise generated and the risk of Foreign Objects being injested into the engine and possible damaging the engine. Happens more often with turbo props with variable pitch propellers.what is used in jets, planes as fuel?
TWA had "power back" gates at JFK. It would save time during busy periods, and require less people to move AC. The engines were started, crew was signaled, and the AC would move back in reverse, and it was not as noisy as you would thinkANR Headset... most bang for my buck?
most comercial jets with thrust reversers can pushback from the gate.piston aircraft from the dc-6 and constellation era can as well.
most turbo prop aircraft that have reversing props can as well.
the one limiting factor in how long they can back up is that when you reverse a piston equiped aircraft is that you are now no longer cooling the engine.checking the cylinder head temp is critical when backing up.
