yes, all the time. i work at a aircraft maintenance facility and we have female captains all the time.
We have loads of them. Flying everything from 737-800's upto 747-200's. They are no different to male pilots and in some cases are better. I have sat in the flight deck many times with them. (not to good a reversing though...hence they have push-back tugs)
