Can united airlines flight attendants choose their home base? can u choose a country like japan?

To me its k,ind of weird letting a United States air carrier have flight attendants in a different country. can u hvae assigned flight attendant living in a differentr country?/ or can u choose ur home base

There are a few considerations that go into where you are based. Usually the crew is based where the airline has a hub. Since UAL has a hub in Tokyo, you can ask to be based there but a lot of the crew scheduling is based on seniority so unless you are proficient in Japanese, there is a chance you will be based where the airline needs you. I think you can live anywhere you want, but you have to be able to make it to the city you are flying out of when you are scheduled to serve passengers.
