What is the scope for a helicopter pilot in the US?

Question:

Answers:

Where can I find out how much is the salary of a pilot in different airlines ?

It can cost from 25-35 grand. Like any other profession just because you have the qualification doesn't mean you're going to get a job.At least not one that pays well. There are jobs out there depending on where you want to live.Anything from EMS which is all over but unfortunately underpaid.Offshore in support of oil, majority of which is Gulf of Mexico /Texas. Sightseeing etc. Basically don't ever expect to get rich being a helicopter pilot. Check out http://www.justhelicopters.com

WHY are there no FEMALE commercial airline pilots??

I looked into getting a license and I found out it can cost as much as a 4 yr college degree. Depending on your instructor the cost can vary. Its not easy classes by far. Not has hard as pilot due to less radio issues due to height the helicopter flies.

Has anyone gone to ATP?

I looked into jobs to see what they asked for experience. 98% of the jobs required military experience in helicopters. Even as a corporate pilot or for say the national parks. So unless you just want to fly around in your own or a rental, you should look into military for flight training to later land a job doing it.

traveller who investigates new land?

just look at your local airports, smaller ones normally better, and talk to the people there. most small airports have at least 1 helicopter guy or at least 1 training center per average size city.

i saw video footage of a smaller plane land with front gear first, now cant find it can anybody help?

There is likely a good future in flying helicopters.

What causes jets flying in the sky to leave white trails behind them? Why do some leave longer trails?

Many helicopter pilots flying now are in their 50's, and were trained in or shortly after the Vietnam war. But they will be retiring soon, and even current US military helicopter pilots apparently aren't getting many training hours. On the other hand the big manufacturers like Eurocopter and Robinson have huge sales and big backlogs of orders. Other factors like traffic problems in cities, more rich people, etc are also making demand for helicopter time rise.

My son has Just said he saw a pilot flying low?

Its a big commitment (money and time-wise) but lots of commerical helicopter pilots started with lessons at their flight school, worked as a CFI or doing pipeline inspections in an R22 or crop dusting in a Bell 47 to build hours, then took right seat in a turbine. It might not pay too well, but its a fine way to make a living.
