Question:
Showers, bars, lounges, duty free shops?
Wanna bet that within 5 years of commercial entry these things are packed with 600 dwarf sized seats packed shoulder to shoulder?
Answers:
the 737 doesnt have the little windows above the main cockpit windows anymore why?
I believe that the airlines will make money with the things...but Airbus will be hard-pressed to sell enough to ever break even.
how long does privite pilot training take, on average, about?
When the 747 first came out...most airlines...even domestic airlines...wanted them. They soon realized that they were flying mostly empty and at one point..."in-flight lounges" (replacing empty seats) became the rage. At one point, American Airlines had THREE lounges in their 747's...they even had a piano in the rear lounge.
Why do planes sometimes take circuitous routes ?
It took 747 operators about 15 years to realize that they were suitable only for long-distance flights with LOTS of filled coach seats.
(I should add that the Japanese have made an art out of operating B-747's profitably on short-haul domestic routes.)
What does a U.S. fighter pilot have to do to qualify as an ace?
It depends on the airline that buys them they are the ones that decide which interiors are fitted. Some no doubt will use them as big people movers. Others with more wealthier clientele will have the lavish appointments. So some will but most won't.How can I make my own small airplane?
I beleive that too. Packed in like sardinesMost probably so.
Could even be 700!
where can i find the passenger list for flight number 305 11/24/71 DB COOPER?
I agree with everyone. The 380 will be a "golden child" for a while, but soon enough, airlines will realize they need to pack more people in to cover the cost. Who knows, it may turn out to be a money pit, maybe requiring more maintenance than expected or otherwise. Only time will tell.it depends on the airline. so far, Thai, and a few others are making thiers nice and many other airlines are following.
Do Eurocopters use SAE or metric hardware?
I hate airbus.
Go boeing!
Its all in the advertising and marketing.
If airline companies market these cool amenities in the right way they can make a plane like this reach its initial potential.
People will buy...if they know about it.
why the HELL did the UK give up its space program?
Emirates is planning to operate the A380 in various configurations. For short haul, they plan to pack the aircraft with seats in a high-density configuration. For long haul, they plan to introduce some amenities and fewer seats. Why can Lightening strike an aircraft if the aircraft is not earthed? I know it can be sruck...?
If airlines were to operate the A380 in a high-density configuration on long-haul routes, they need to ask Airbus to produce a high gross weight version of the aircraft. The range of the A380 is calculated with a load of 555 passengers. If the passenger capacity were increased, the weight would also increase, decreasing the range.
I think anyone who works for an airline (as I do) doesn't believe in the hype. Airlines focus on cost cutting and increasing revenue and this means out with the duty free shop and lounges and back to the majority economy style seating configurations. Would you believe that they have software that can model what an extra olive on your salad on any particular flight will do to their bottom line?
Do birds avoid flying into clouds like VFR pilots?
AHHHH, that's assuming they ever really enter service, I am doubting it's really going to happen. When I see one going over my head on the taxiway going into OHare, then I'll believe it.what speed does a dornier 328 take of at?
I somewhat agree with you. You are packed in there. ( I read somewhere that the largest plane will hold 990 people but that is hard to believe) But I is a big enough plane. If I could buy my own and if I had an airline, I would get it with the works, bars, shops, bedrooms, lounges...just so I can charge more for people who don't care about money! I know...I'm greedy!Last year Richard Branson(CEO Virgin Air) announced that Virgin would be offering flying staterooms with these planes. Now he is a crusader against Global Warming. Go figure.
Don't forget, those jets are going to cater to the ultra rich. As you said, for everyday travelers, you better believe they'll be packing them in like sardines to max out the profits, and to heck with the amenities.
Actually, the airline decides on the interior configuration, and as of yet, no, none of them have opted for the features you have mentioned.
Also, they can pack closer to 800 dwarf sized seats in one of these.
