Tens of thousands of airliners flying 24 hours a day around the world what about their pollution?

Question:
Tens of thousands of airliners flying 24 hours a day around the world what about their pollution?
Why does vehicle pollution get so much attention ? And all the airplanes pollution doesn't get any attention?

Answers:

Is flying a helicopter a lot more difficult than flying an airplane?

Its all about the money

Another question on vapor trails for a friend out there:?

I had thought the same thing. Why don't they add all the empty seats on all the planes traveling around the U.S. and mandate a cut in air travel to the airlines fli\ying here.

Why are the U.S. flags on Continental's airplanes backwards?

Planes only contribute to 1% of CO2 world-wide. Vehicle pollution gets attention because it has local effects, while aircraft pollution only has global effects, and people care more about a problem if it's happening in their back yard.

aerodynamic performance?

Attitudes are changing though. The UK has just introduced a $80 tax in every passenger for long-haul flights, for environmental reasons.

impact of wide body jet aircrafts on the aviation industry with regard to passengers fares and travel?

The polution from air traffic is trivial. Airliners are more efficient per passenger then cars or busses. It's stupid that the europeans are attacking a fuel-efficient transportation method. All they're really doing is taxing the working class that wants to go on holiday.

Has anyone heard of Silver State Helicopters?

The amount of pollution from aircraft is trivial compared to automobiles (many many many times more cars than aircraft).
Regardless, aircraft engine manufacturers are seriously working at reducing NOx emissions from their engines and have made huge gains in the last few years.
Aircraft manufacturers are also making HUGE strides at eliminating other toxic elements like chromium from their components, while auto manufacturers have done ZIP on this front. (Aircraft chrome is a tiny fraction of one percent of total chrome in the world, but companies like Airbus have essentially eliminated chrome on their new aircraft - cadmuim is next.) And believe me, chrome and cad were once considered "essential" for aircraft operations but once they put their minds to it, they found other solutions.
You just don't hear about this stuff because what the general public wants to hear about is cheaper airline travel (see the answer above about holiday travel). They don't want to hear about the green improvements, because they are often making it more expensive.

what is the definition of a time share aircraft?

The next front that is being tackled in aircraft is the contrail - the puffy white trail of condensed water vapour you see in the sky following the aircraft.
Those trails are not pollution. They're just water vapour. But the water vapour acts like a cloud and prevents cooling of the earth.
There are so many contrails in the sky now that there is a measurable temperature difference from them. (The couple of days after 9/11 when there was no flying, I think the average temperature in the US cooled by about a degree or 2 and they attributed it to the lack of contrails in the sky!)
Aircraft manufacturers and federal agencies are seriously looking at the impact of these and are trying to figure out ways to reduce the impact of these natural (and clean) by-products of airline travel.
Of course, you probably won't hear about it

Most US Airlines have several things in common different from non-US Airlines. Are these FAA regulations?

"Tens of thousands of airliners flying 24 hours a day..." Nowhere near that many, my friend. You aren't even close.

Can you take the ground course for flight school at one school and the flying hours at another?

Actually, the pollution per passenger mile is not that different from traveling by car. And, since the planes are mostly full and cars are not, it is a better alternative.
