Why does France still have Renault, Peugeot and Citroen but Britain now has no car industry?

France and Britain both have a population of about 60 Million but how come the French can still support three homemade car manufacurers but all the British ones have closed down or been sold?

Not all British car manufacturers have closed down or been sold. There are a few exceptions, but for the most part they are either kit car manufacturers -such as Noble- or specialty car manufacturers -such as Morgan.

Hey,don't feel bad,we(the US) have a population of 300 million and our car companies are also failing...any body want to buy Chrysler...GM can't afford it,Ford is going belly-up,VW doesn't want them,Renault-Nissan and Toyota have also declined.
