Question:
I am 17 years old, 5'9 and weigh 158. Is my weight going to limit my gas mileage alot or does it require like 200 pounds or more to do that? I drive a 2001 Nissan Sentra.
Answers:
Why are types of car so called?
cars are made to transport people. 158 pounds aint gonna do nothing. 800 pounds might have a slight effect but the major factor in gas mileage is how heavy your foot is on the gas. What is a good amount of mileage for a car?
it won't effect much :)What majors or careers are involved with designing cars and the automotive industry?
besides, you don't weight much more than a girl :)
Which stripe is best for a 1974 'Cuda?
lol No, dude, it's not. And even if you're 200lbs it won't affect your gas mileage by a substantial margin. I'm glad to see someone young caring about the environment though.I once got told I drive like a man..........?
If you are worried about gas mileage, there are other things that have a bigger impact. Make sure you have a clean air filter, the correct tire pressure, good spark plugs (should be easy to change on a Sentra), and change the oil.5'9" @160 isn't exactly heavy.
Why cherry picker basket leaders (trucks) are up when parked?
The fact is, that the more weight in a car, the more power it needs to have, thus more fuel consumption. Fuel consumption would obviously be higher with 5 people sitting in the car, rather than 1. And your weight is normal, im 5.9 and a half and weigh 156. Dont worry about it. If you are worried about mileage, then you can make sure you dont carry extra load in your trunk. Keep your car tunned up properly, check that your tire pressure is good ( this also effects a bit). If your at high speed, keep your windows up, reduces drag. Get your car fully serviced regularily, to remove all the mud and dirt that gathers under the car. And while driving, accelerate slowly, no fast starts. All these things combined can help better mileage. Hope this helped.
