I own a new car (2006) and I got in an accident. The other car was making an illegal u-turn across a two lane business district road. they're car is drivable mine however has 10,000 worth of damage. and my insurance policy ended last month. I don't know what my next move is. any advice?

Sounds to me like your going to be driving around in a busted up motor car for a long while.if it was the other persons fault and they got a ticket it shouldnt matter if you had insurance theirs should cover your damage get the police report and it will have their insurances name on it and a claim # and call them.

Your lucky you don't live in SC they would of taken your drivers license for not having insurance. It is people like you that makes insurance go up for hard working honest people. I pay for uninsured & underinsured motorists because people can't obey the law. If your financing a new *(2006) vehicle by law you sign a contract promising you will mantain insurance. I doubt you bought the car cash out since you aren't responsible enough to pay imporatant bills. Lets just say it is a hard lesson learned & next time keep insurance next time. First did anybody get cited? Second if you have been with you insurance company a long time. Contact them immediately and tell them you missed place you bill and want to bring you insurance up to date yesterday. If they were cited their insurance company is liability. If you got cited for no insurance your in trouble. Either way get insurance.
