9006 Standard Watt Vs. 9006 High Watt. Bulbs?

Question:
Will it melt a projector housing unit or stock wiring if I put a 9006 High Watt if the car has come with 9006 standard watt bulbs. The wattage difference is 50W standard compared to 100W high. Whats your opinion?

it can discolour your plastic headlight and make it yellow due to the heat. I've also seen the aftermarket bulbs turn the silver reflective backing of the headlight black also.
