2004 Buick Regal with 60,000 miles?

Question:
what is your take on this car? Previous owners were an older couple. It is all leather interior and everything is all power. I know that has its pros and cons so please do not go into that. I had a mechanic tell me this is nothing more than a pathetic piece of tin. Is this true? I paid 12 grand on it last year was that fair? The body is in excellent condition and the tires should last one more year. The brakes are new. Paint excellent.

How do i get a list of all the gas stations in the US by state?

I just ran your on Kelly Blue Book. Buying a car like that from a previous owner in my area code comes out to this: Today's price in excellent condition you should have paid no more than $10,140. Good cond.$9,360., Fair cond. $8.385. Interestingly the book stated it should have had a total of 48,000 miles on it when you drove it away. The bright side is if they kept it serviced regularly (oil & filter as well as cabin and air filters) you should have a winner. those Buick V6 motors have been around forever and GM continues to improve them year after year. I would suggest that you plan on getting the transmission fluid and filter changed. It's a good insurance policy. When it's time for tires take a look at tirerack.com all major brands no sales tax. They drop ship your choice at your house or a recommended (by them, according to your area code) tire mounting and balancing site. I've done it for 20 yrs. Great guys and they'll answer any and all questions you may have. Secure and honest company. You can buy on line or call. I like to do the latter.

Today I saw a Neon with a huge spoiler on the back and wondered are these guys joking?

I would stay away from any GM product made in the last few years.

Car Problems?

There's a reason GM is a struggling company, and it's not because they make fabulous cars.

who manufactures Oyster Cards?

That was a good buy, don't let anyone say otherwise. The regal with the 3.8 is a very exceptional car/

diesel buses....is it necessary to warm up the new models of diesel buses?

I'm a HUGE fan of Buick's! The last one I had I drove until it had 256,000 miles on it!! I never had a lick of problem with it until the very end. As far as I'm concerned you should have nothing to worry about. A 2004 Regal has a 6 cylinder engine in it that is the best one to come out of GM in over 25 years -- they actually call it "The Iron Horse". You can drive them forever, with proper maintenance. 60,000 miles on these motors is barely getting broken in. You have a 3 (going on 4) year old vehicle with relatively low mileage -- probably mostly highway miles (I'll bet the older couple traveled a lot in it, which would easily explain why it's had approximately 20,000 miles per year put on it). Even if you have to put new tires on it in the next year or so, it's only considered normal maintenance -- chances are you'd have to do it to any car you have. I don't think that the mechanic you talked to knew what he was talking about -- I certainly wouldn't call that car a pathetic piece of tin! You car was probably in excess of $30,000 new -- you could probably have gotten it cheaper than $12,000, but all in all, I'd say you did ok on the deal. Stop sweating it!! Regal's are beautiful cars and you should be proud to have it!

What name should i give my new car?

You didn't mention if your Regal is the GS Gran Sport model or LS. The GS model is Supercharged and you must use Premium Fuel. If this is a Supercharged model, I would have the Supercharger Oil changed in it for insurance. Definitely have the transmission fluid flushed and change the filter too.
