Rover 620ti '97 speedo gone crazy. flickers all over the dial regardless of actual speed. any ideas? help!

It's not a traditional cable or traditional speedo. it has a speed sensor fitted, change that, buy the manual it will explain all.

speedometer cable may have a sharp kink in it. Follow it down from the speedometer head(instrument cluster to the drive)A smooth gentle curve is allowed. Only solution is a replacement of cable.
