Does anyone know anything about proposed plans in the UK to make the minimum age you can take your practical test up from 17 to 21 years old? And increasing the theory test from 35 questions to 50? I have been hearing these rumors all over collage but i cannot find it anywhere on the Internet, i checked the DSA website as well as the DVLA but cant find it? Is it true?

age limit has gone from 17 to 27, questions has changed from 35 to 350. Now there is an oral exam as well. My advice, get a push bikeHa ha. Don't know.

At the moment those rumours are a load of rubbish ... though there was talk of proposals to increase the driving age from 17 to 18 (not 21) ....but i think even if anything were to come in to force it would be a few years away. 21 would be a good age to start driving. The learner would be more mature and this age limit would cut congestion too.

If it is true then they are going to have to improve the bad bus routes in villages as it would then be impossible for people in these bad bus route areas to get a job until they are 21.I never wanted to learn how to drive but because of the lack of decent bus routes, I am being forced to.
