You can have it as luxurious as you like or as plain - it ALWAYS ranks high in the crash tests - you can't beat the gas mileage & it holds its value extremely well on resale. The Toyota Avalon is a nice car but Toyotas have more mechanical problems than Honda, in my opinion. Nissan Maxima is definitely the 3rd choice. There is a good reason why so many people own Honda after Honda after Honda.

Hmm, see the thing is that the Accord really doesn't compete directly with either of the two (it more competes with the Nissan Altima and Toyota Camry). Because of this, you will find that the Accord is smaller than either of the other two and most likely will handle better. The Avalon is a very nice and luxurious large sedan, mainly aimed at people in their 50s. It is faster than even an Accord V6, but will most likely not handle as well as the Accord or Maxima. The Accord is a nice family sedan, and can range from a cloth seated, 4 cylinder, manual transmission model to a leather seated, 6 cylinder, automatic transmission model. It handles nicely since it is based on the Acura TL sports sedan, and the V6 accelerates nicely. The Maxima is kind of in the middle, it is bigger than the Accord but smaller than the Avalon. Power wise it is pretty evenly matched with the Avalon but is faster than even an Accord V6. It handles better than the Avalon but not as well as the Accord. The Avalon and Accord would also most likely get the best fuel economy as well. Bottom line: I would have to rank the Avalon as the best overall car. The Accord is second in my book, and the Maxima is a close third. Although, you really can't go wrong with any of them. I'd suggest you go down to your local Toyota, Nissan, and Honda dealers to see what you think.What did you do on your first driving lesson?
