Why do we way more for gas in California than anywhere else in the country?

I've always wondered why they don't make a teen setting in cars. They could make it where the rpm's wouldn't go over like 4000 and the car would only accelerate at like 75% of normal. Your teen could tell you where they were going and you could use GPS to plot a course and if they deviated more than a mile you would receive a text message or something. Have you ever set at a stoplight and had the sun blarring into your eyes and you couldn't see the signal. Either the windshield should dim or something in the car should tell you it's green. I can't belive that there hasn't been a car with a factory installed nitrous kit. Even the rich boy like NOS. Composites have came along way in the last 20 years, now they make our sports cars lighter, I think soon they will make our luxury cars lighter makeing them more fuel efficant. DGI ( direct gas injection) is just making it's start, I could write a novel on why thats more efficant. I think they will make a car that you can change its color with the touch of a button. Have you seen privacy glass, it clear as normal glass but when you pass a current through it, it turns white. I think with nano technology currently they could make a clear coat on say a black car that with the push of a button it would turn white. Their are more things to come in luxury, as worldly economics change, the price we expect to pay for everything increases and China's labor rate stay low and even though Luxury ideas spring form America they can be made in china for a low price.

Automatic slowing when approaching a collision and accelerating when things are clear. Possibly steering as well.

My car is having problems with changing gears. HELP?!?

#1- the features that are first-class will be standard on them all in 10 years.
#2- they'll drive themselves. As unlikely as it sounds, people are still not believing that a car can parallell park itself or drive itself in stop-and-go traffic. I'd like to see the ramifications for this, though.
