I have never been in or purchased an RV before. I am considering the purchase and would like to know what costs (aside from fuel) are associated. I am assuming energy to run the accessories like the shower, stove, etc can add to it. I also figure there are fees associated with "parking" the RV somewhere. I guess I am looking for someone with an RV to give me a round number of how much additional I can expect to spend every month on the little things. Just as an FYI, I was thinking of purchasing a 24' trailer, one that attaches to a vehicle for towing. Thanks!

Blue Septic Treatments
Antifreeze for the winter months (if applicable)
Fuel (of course)
Camping & Storage Fees
Chock Blocks (to prevent to from moving once parked)
Trailer Lock
RV Extension cord ( for power sites)

These costs will vary accorning to where you live and how often you will camp. If you've never even stepped into an RV before, I highly suggest that you try to rent one first to get an idea if it's for you or not. At the very least, visit a campground and ask to see some from those who are camping there.

A trailer is different then a RV. A trailer is pulled and a RV has its' own engine. There are some similarities, like park fees and disposal fees (of grey water), utility hook ups, propane, if it has a awning, do you bring an extra mosqito tent, tv antenna, bedding, ice, insurance, licence, maintanence, those are some things I can think of. I don't have any numbers for you though. It will depend some on how many people you are taking.What should I do to have this abandoned car towed away?
Propane for the stove, heater and fridge (if you aren't plugged into an outlet at an RV park. Nightly parking fees at an RV park or state/national park. Maintenance costs for trailer, annual gas check, licence fees.Most of these items vary from place to place but an RV gives you more independence than motels etc and so I think are worth the cost. If you buy a used unit have an independent check done before finalizing or buy from a reputable dealer. Enjoy the experience.

I just sold a motothome I had for a while.To each his own but I would never have another one.I speak from personal experience and from friends and relatives that own them. They constantly need something and if you take them to a RV dealer it is very expensive.A small trailer like you are getting will require a 1/2 ton truck to tow safely.You can pay from 10.00 to 40.00 or more at a RV park per night.Your fuel (propane) is not expensive unless you run a gas furnace.You will need to stay somewhere that has electric power as most trailers do not have a generator.Other than that there isn"t much I can think of as far as operating expenses.Just remember that if it needs any repairs or anything replaced it will cost much more than you can imagine.Also,a 24' trailer will feel like a walk-in closet after a few days.I wouldn't recommend one that small for more than a weekend.More Questions & Answers ...
