Hybrids are electric cars charged by gasoline engines attached to generators. Miles per gallon depend on the size engine they use, but is generally 30-60mpg if I understand correctly. They're a bit more complicated because they have a dual powerplant, but eventually, you should be able to replace the engine with other more advanced powerplants. I would love to have one if I could afford it.
