Power vs. weight?

Question:
Many people remove their a/c compressor to lighten the car and reduce strain on the motor. I always heard that cooler air produces more power, so why would you remove something that produces very cold air? Would it be possible to run the air intake tube and a/c ductwork into an enclosure inside the car? Would you get more out of it?

Cold air going into the motor is good, thats why people put cold air intakes on their cars. Cold air going into the cabin does nothing to help performance. You have a pulley that is running off a belt being powered by the crank pullet to power the AC. That draws power away from the motor and adds weight.

What's the difference between 4WD and AWD?

in theory that sounds good but it would be very hard to route ac into air cleaner and make it look good
