What rustproofing features should I look for in a rustproofing company if I want to get my car done?

Question:
I just bought a 2006 Nissan Sentra and I live in Ontario, Canada. In winter there can be a lot of ice, snow and salt. I park my car outside all the time and am looking for recommendations as to the best rustproofer to go for? Is this something I have to get done for the entire car, and also how often is rustproofing done? Once only, every few years?

Most cars have rustproof paint on them. The ice and snow will melt but it's the salt that is the problem. Wash your car often including the undercarriage.

all vehicles already have rustproofing from the factory, adding anything else can cause rust. Wash the car frequently in the winter to remove the salt, give it a good coat of wax in the fall to protect the paint, and make sure the drain holes in the door bottom edges are not plugged. Mud flaps are a good investment too since it redirects tire spray away from door edges.

Make sure to properly seal any holes you drill in the body (like to mount mud flaps) with silicone sealent.
