Auto manufacturers aren't in the market for YOU to save money on Fuel costs considering that they are the ones that own most of the oil companies. People claimed that their 1980's Volkswagen Diesel cars were getting in the 60MPG range. If cars especially ALL cars got 100+MPG, then the auto manufacturers and oil tycoons would make millions/billions less EACH per year.

-Yes we have had the technology for 75 years to make out cars get 100MPG. Anyways just take one of those hybrids and just switch the unleaded engine with a diesel and it will automatically get much etter fuel milage forget about everything else like better batteries and controler.
