1998 Ford Explorer XLT SOHO
135,000 miles
power everything
leather seats
amazing condition/ no dents or anything
but i have no idea how the engine or transmision works
and i cant afford to take it to a dealer or mechanic to check it out
Has anyone there have a comment about Fleetwood R.V.?
so what are some common problems with fords?
and what do you think about it?

The biggest concern with those with the 4.0 SOHC engine was the timing chain tensioners. If you've got a problem with those, your best bet for repair is a dealer. There are special tools to set the timing on them, the easiest thing to check for is a ticking noise from the engine.
