How many axles are legal in California?

Question:
I own a dump truck company here in Arizona and I have some 4 axle dump trucks (10 wheeler with 2 tag axles). I was trying to find out if these are legal to run in California. Any info would be greatly appreciated.

Yes they are legal, I see them all the time.

How is nitro methane fuel made and what is it made from? Where can I get detailed info?

California DMV would be the best bet for a "definitive" answer, but I know from having lived in 29 Palms I used to see the double axle trucks with a single tag axle all the time. Can't remember if the 4 axle ones were there or not. go to www.ca.gov to find out.

what are all them gears for...?

if i take my car back to the dealership and don't sign the voluntary surrender forms, what will happen?

Yes, they are legal. Many transit (cement) mixers here have such an axle arrangement. The CHP would not be looking at the number of axles, but rather the weight on each axel: 20,000 lbs on duel tires and 12.500 lbs on single tires
