It Grinds my Gears (literally)?

Question:
Trying to nab that parking spot, I quickly shift from first gear to reverse, and the transmission usually freaks out at me.
In my five speed manual transmission, reverse grinds frequently even though the clutch is pushed. It is especially common if I am moving forward or from first gear to reverse.

Forward gears are equipped with a mechanism that helps align them when you shift, but, typically the reverse gears do not. Come to a complete stop before shifting into reverse, your transmission will appreciate it.
