Motor scooters in NJ?

Are motor scooters legal in NJ? If they are, what are the restricitions/guidelines? Do you need a permit to drive a motorscooter and if so, how old do you have to to get one and where would you get it? Thanks in advance!

Department of Motor Vehicles. You need a Motorcycle lic. if your going to operate it on the Public Roads. If your going to operate it on a Interstate it must meet min. speed requirements.
Also needs full inspection and registration.
