How do enterprise car rental work? do they own all the cars they rent out or do they lease it or something? just wondering because i was at car rental and the lady yelled out that found two new cars cobalt and truck. and i am like what does that mean? i didn't ask her what she meant by that because i was in a hurry.

Hertz is actually owned by Ford Motor Company... hence most of the cars they rent are Fords... some companies fleet purchase at a huge discount (GM,Ford & Chrysler all do this because they want their cars featured... it's a great sales gimic that gets customers into the cars to try them out)... Enterprise purchases it's cars at fleet prices and keeps them roughly 20K miles before auctioning them off to car dealers who turn around and sell them as almost new for a few thousand off of the new price (program cars)...
