Question:
what prevents the exhaust gases from going out through the inlet during THE VALVE OVERLAP period.
Answers:
Can anyone advise me on what I need to look for in a Driving instructor?
exaust gases r prevented from escaping due to exaust backpressure when valves r in overlap(when both valves r open together 4 a millisecond)ever heard a car when someone puts on a non standard exhaust system it backfires when they back off or go down gears because the y have altred the exahust they have altred the exahust backpressureWhat's better 4 high or 4 low?
During that short duration of time, there is negative pressure in the chamber as the piston is starting down to draw in the fuel/air mix.Isn't it ironic that folks who think they are adept at 'handling' SUV's...?
Looks like this question just been answered, but I want to bring up something cool here in case some people here dont know. This is how hybrid cars work, with valve overlap. Think about it, when the electric engine runs, dont you think the engine will slow it down due to compression and pressure? Well thanks to valve overlap, it allows free movement of the electric engine and the gas engine. Sorry I'm off topic, but the question reminded me of this and just want to get it out. :)More Questions & Answers ...
