Question:
I put the defrost button (the symbol that looks like a windshield) and the ac on to defrost the car. But I know there are two buttons that I might need to use as well. One is a symbol of a car with an arrow going in a loop in the car, and the other one if of a car with an arrow going down diagonally to the right in the car. What do those symbols mean?

how would enterprise rent a car know rented car went out of state?
Do put the a/c on as this will de-humidify the air(stop your windscreen going all wet and foggy). The arrow going in a loop indicates the air is recycled, no new air is taken in, this isnt a good idea unless you have the a/c on. When its hot put this on as your car will cool faster.
The air going into the car indicates the air is from the outside, fresh air is brought in.
Sounds like your doing it right, i find putting it on cold clears the windscreen faster as the fans blow faster, but when the heaters warm up switch to warm to keep the screen clear.
Just use whatever works best for you.
to defrost a car, don't put it on ac. that's air conditioner. put it on heat/windsheild, the loop is for all vents, the other one is for the feet.
what is class 1/11 driving licence...which type of vehicle can you drive with this licence?
The looped arrow means the car is recirculating the air inside the car , not a good idea in cold climates because it keeps too much moisture inside the car in the winter..The other arrow button brings in outside air, use that one.
Will I fail smog check if the check engine light is on?
Darn all these symbols. The buttons normally go together in a logical sequence. The defogger /defrost button is a little harder to find. Chev and other americal cars put it in the bottom part of the dash and a red light should come on. Ford puts it on the dash as well but together with the controls for th eback windshield wipers etc.If a blue light comes on, that is for air conditioning. The symbol that looks like a windshield might be the one you need. Find auxiliary buttons, or controls in that general area to control rear window washing fluid if it looks like a lever, move the lever around, such as push or pull, or twist.
Get somebody else who can find it for you and memorize where it is.
I've lost ignition keys to an old dodge truck. What is the best route to go?
R1volta is correct, you want outside air. And you DO want the A/C on. However, a lot of cars turn it on when you push the defrost button. Why do some people buy nice, expensive vehicles, and then...?
Do this. With the hood up and the engine just started and cold, turn on the A/C and see if the cooling fan turns on or the A/C clutch locks up and turns the compressor, it should. Then turn the A/C off and do the same with the defrost button. If it works the same way, your defrost turns the air on automatically.
This is important, because if you run with defrost all the time, the A/C is running as well, reducing your MPG.
where can i find a list of 1/4 mile times for production cars, particularly supercars?
The loop on the car means you are re-circulating the air that's already in the car. That is to warm up the car quicker. Then you want to use the one with the arrow going down to bring in fresh air. To defrost the windows.how long does it take for an acciddent to show on my driving report?
the ac is to cool the car. the button with the arrow looping around is to recirculate the air that is in your car already, and the one with the arrow going down is to allow fresh air to come in. To defrost your cars windows, just make sure that the temp is warm or hot, and the defrost button is usually for the back window. and make sure that your controls are on defrost..More Questions & Answers ...
