Can I tow antoher car on a 2 wheeler car dolly on a 1990 mercedes 190e?

Question:
the 190e has 4 cyl..can i tow other cars on a 2 wheel dolly on it?

Answers:

Tiff Needell or Hammond/May?

i own a repair shop and i don't think you want to try this, the transmission wont do it, the car might have enough power to do this ,but it would be so hard on it that it would get the transmission in it for sure, towing another car is harder than it seems like it would be,i tried towing one with a 2 wheel drive truck that was a 4 cylinder, and it just wouldn't do it,i could barely get pulled out in it,you,ll do damage to the the Mercedes if you try this,so i wouldn't attempt to do it,good luck i hope this helps.

If you try and clean a car battery with cold water, will it affect anything?

only if you have a tow package put on it

What is your favorite car?

You should be able too providing the cars you want to tow are not too heavy.

Is the 2007 Chevy Aveo a good choice?

If you are asking if you can use the 1990 Mercedes to tow another car on a car dolly it depends. All cars have a towing capacity. I looked on the web and could not find yours. You might want to check your owners manual or check with the dealer. Your car has only 130 horsepower so the towing capacity can't be much. I have towed many cars with a toy dolly including using a small toyota pick up to tow a mustang. As long as you don't have to navigate any steep hills and have a proper hitch for the tow vehicle you should be ok.

Australian cars?

i don't see why not, but you won't be going very fast. i presume with any older car it might struggle to pull the car.

Does a mechanic have to have a licence so he can drive the car onto the ramp?

It may depend on several things..
first of all if yo have an owners handbook towing information should be in there . if not
you have to consider the weight of the vehicle being towed
It is hard on vehicles to tow other vehicles , and the ones that do usually have a transmition cooler and a heavy duty rad to keep from over heating .. another thing is how far your going to tow it ..what is the terrain like if your going up a mountain road ..well that hard on any vehicle
With a proper weight distributing hitch it may be possible but
I wouldn't get too carried away ..
the best person to ask is either a Mercedes dealer , or mechanic or a hitch installation customer service rep , he or she will have the facts for just about every car ..
