In snow, 4wd will help. On ice, 4wd might help a little bit.a ten wheeler truck & a car are travelling @ a speed of 80kph on the highway.?
The thickness of ice doesn't matter. Ice is ice. You are on top of it, not driving through it like snow.
yes a big yes olny when speeding up not stoping
Nope.. not a all. Once you start to slide on ice, and especially with an inch of ice, 4-wheel drive will be of no help at all. If you had studded tires, that would help, but other than that, on ice, you may as well have skates on.
Why dont more people know about the electric car?
yes, 4 wheel makes a difference, BUT only if you have studs. with regular tires, you're going to slide regardless of drives. Why did my Drivers Ed teacher say depressed people shouldn't drive a car?
Yes but beware: 4 wheels turning will get you going faster. Four wheels locked-up stops the car just as fast 2wd or 4wd. 4wd gets you moving faster, faster. And 4wd are usually heavier, they need alot more room to stop. Can I switch the steering wheel out of my 85 chevy K20 for one off of an 89?
yes, because you have the weight of the engine on the front wheels, giving you traction. front wheel drive is next best. also since all wheels are turning you have a better chance of one having tractionMore Questions & Answers ...
