Does the silicon contaminated petrol affect older cars?

Question:

Answers:

Where can I find driving directions for a commercial vehicle?

All of the current probelms with cars seems to be silicone contamination of the Oxygen senser which is part of the modern engine management system.
An older car (with carb and distributor) will not have one, and so may not be affected.
But I have no idea if it would affect any other part of the engine over time, but I doubt it.
It never did Dolly Parton any harm!!

How do you find out?

Just to add to the other answer if you have a fuel injected car that does not have a catalytic converter, usually pre 1992 then that would also be OK as that doesn't have an O2 sensor either, with the possible exception of merc's and such like but I doubt they would have them on UK spec cars.

Who knows a lot about cars?

I would think it might block the in line filters ?
