Question:
My daughter has an extremely high opinion of my knowledge and abilities. I fly by the seat of pants in most car repairs, but she seems to think I'm a master mechanic and wants me to try and fix everything on her car. Last week it was an intake manifold, today it's a ball joint. I don't have enough knowledge or experience to be experimenting on a car my 14 month grandson rides around in.

HELP I can't get him out of my head...How do I let go??
tell her just because you may be able to get through repairing her car doesnt mean that you are comfortable doing so. also tell her that you know how to fix some stuff but not all things and would be more comfortable with a mechanic doing the work.tell her you would much rather have her and your grandson be safe rather than rely on your own expertise as you are not a mechanic and dont really have the knowledge on how to properly and safely repair automobiles.i have two kid myself(both now teens)and only repair stuff i know how to safely do.the rest i have done.if need be i borrow money from my mom and she would rather have me do this as in her words she says you must be safe.Tell her you dont know how to do it and that she will have to take it to a mechanic. You cant be expected to know everything and obviously shes old enough to understand that.

Who's the father?? Just don't do it. All she cares about is the free labor.Where do all the MRT trains go at the end of the day?
I would rationally explain to her that your skills simply are not up to the task of what she's asking you to do. You can also mention the fact that she is putting her child at risk if she insists in you fixing the car.If she doesn't want to accept this (because it s easy enough to *understand*) - simply say "No", and tell her that she will understand your reasoning one day in he future.
You might even consider paying for her first few car repairs to smooth up the process.

Yellow left arrow light at stoplight?
What do you want to do a thing like that for? Tell her, "Oh, that's so easy but it needs special tools and it's cheaper to take it to the shop. The tools alone would cost twice as much and I'd never use them again because there are different ones for each car."Just tell her you dont fell safe doing that type of job and that you only done it one time b4 lol
