Question:
Any Truckers? Do doubles steer the same as 53 Foot Trailers? Or is the steering mechanism different?
Answers:
Quick fix tire question??
well basically no. when pulling doubles, also known as tandem, you cant back up and the turn radius is larger because you have 2 trailers, and a dolly in the middle of that.a single 53 footer can be backed up,and has just the one pivot point which can allow over 90 degs of turn
What is the web address for the road charge petition?
THe steering is not different. You can't back up with doubles to a dock, but you can with the 53 ft.
Speed bumps?
the truck stays the same no matter the size or amount of the trailers but it is definitely easier to pull a 53foot opposed to two or three pup trailers because it is almost impossible to back up a set of doubles and totally impossible to back a set of triples.
