When you are in a crowded (emphasis on crowded) parking lot, what are some methods that you use to prevent car dings? I have a friend who doesn’t park all the way in, instead he levels the back end of his vehicle a little further out but still legal. He says this prevents the bigger cars like SUVS from pulling in and parking next to his vehicle. If there is an SUV already there, he still does this, so their door strategically will align with the side-view mirror. (He does get some amusement watching the driver try to maneuver out of the parking stall, though.) His car has no dings whatsoever, and it is eight years old.

its a fact even yesterday i parked all alone on purpose but came back and someone had parked right up close to me and there where abou 30 empty spaces.All we do to try and stop this is try and park on an end space that way can usually leave a bigger gap.park next to expensive cars.never park next to a suv van or one with babyseats on your side and try to take two spaces where canfailing all that park right away from the others and sometimes you might get no one at your side.

I can't tell you how many times the hubby or I have parked waaayyy out, with no one around, and came out to find some jerk right next to us when there were a zillion other spots he could have taken.

it helps to park next to 4-door vehicles. their doors are shorter and dont reach as farBut now that you have told everybody he does this on purpose and is not just another dumb-*** that can't drive he will have.
