The most important thing any person (especially a teenager or a kid) is a great life at home. The fact that he/she has a loving environment with people who care about him/her and make sure that the basic elements of life are at their child's hands then that's enough.
I do not think that any teenager who has everything in life except true love and support is really happy. Nothing whatever it was (be it money, gadgets..etc) is as comforting as settling emotionally.
