Question:
I plan on going to Indiana University for college next august. I'm looking to buy an used convertible BMW or Mercedez right now, My dad says that convertibles won't be good in Indiana since it is so cold in the winter. I'm wondering if convertibles really don't hold heat in as well as hardtops and if it doesn't then is it really that big of a difference/concern? (what about those hot summers?)
Answers:
So you will get part of Spring, and part of Summer to drop the top.
Other times you just keep the top up, no big deal, they hold heat/AC about the same as a hard top.
It is noisier in a convertible, most every noise outside the car you will hear it.
How do i aquire my license at the age of 18?
As long as the heater works and the air conditioning works you will not have a problem with a convertible. Is the astra 2.0 litre turbo a gas guzzler ?
The heater can produce heat much faster then it can escape through the convertable top, same goes for the air conditioner, it can get rid of heat faster then heat can come through the top. (Assuming they both work properly!)
How can i do 360s in a car that is manual transmition?
If you live in the southern states it's no problem. As for summer it's better because the cloth top doesn't get as hot as metal. Can I use my driving permit in a different state?
i have had a couple of drop top rides .i can't say cold was ever a problem
