Help on New Jersey Road Test?

You'll be fine. Try not to be nervous. Listen to the instructor and do as she says. Remember the instructor knows best and wouldn't ask you to do anything she didn't think you could do (assuming the instructor is from a reputable company).

I have a 91' infinity: does any one no if you can use another type of rear strut than the original equipment?

I had my first driving lesson aged 48 and like yourself I was really nervous - terrified in fact. The tutors are very much used to this. You will be in dual controlled car so the tutor can stop the car if you are not sure what to do or panic. They always take you to a very quiet place that has little traffic so do not be too scarred. These tutors are going out with new drivers every day they know exactly what to do and how to help you. The first lesson is really quite easy once you get rid of your nerves unless you are really nervous when you might struggle a little but not much - the problem you will have is with your nerves not the actual driving. It is natural to worry you certainly would not make a good driver if you had not worries when you first take this major step. On the plus side once you have learnt to drive and passed your test your life will be transformed the freedom it gives you and the buzz too that you did it. I was so very nervous all through my lessons I just thought I would never be able to drive and yet ten lessons later I passed first time. Just keep studying the highway code and try to relax in your lessons and you will be OK REALLY. I hope all goes really well and you are a Natural Born Driver - you never know.

Ads on Cars get you a Free Car?

awww bless, you're bound to be worrying it's your first one. All I can say from experience is I was totally freaked on my first but the instructor took me to a quiet area and just made me drive up and down the road getting me familiar with the way the car works, (clutch, gears, steering, mirrors etc) gave me a lot of confidence. I would say just listen to your instructor she will put you at ease, and in no time your confidence will grow, good luck xxx

Driving school?

She probably knows most kids are nervous the first time behind the wheel...but just take a few deep breaths and do what she tells you. It's not so bad once you get going!

Why do most cars have speedometers that go up to at least 130 when you legally can't go that fast on any road?

The instructor will have clutch and brake pedals to help you out of any kind of sticky situation.

I have a vauxhall combo van(N reg). It doesn't have power steering but can I convert it so it does?

The first lesson will be on a pretty much unused road, or even airfield, so don't worry.

Manufactures faults on rover 75 cars?

You're there to learn, she's there to teach. There is no reason to worry, you've booked it and it's going to happen, so there's no point in worrying about it now.

What's the difference between 4wd and Awd??

Reading the Highway code is a very smart thing to do and it shows you committed to learning, after all if you it shows you the correct way to drive. You first lesson will be to ease your nerves,go through all the controls etc, this could last for about 20-30Min's,and your first lesson will most likely moving the car and stopping it again, somewhere quiet and for a short distance. You will be fine I'm sure.

What is the name/brand of the car that is medium sized and is box like?

I was a nervous wreck on my first lesson; most people are. Be open with your instructor. Any instructor worth their salt will do all they can to put you at your ease. I came away from my first lesson having had a great time!! Be assured your confidence will grow. I'm one of those weird people who actually ended up enjoying their driving test once I got started. Good luck. You will be fine. Remember that the instructor is there to ease you through and they are aware that people come with nerves

Do car makers know what we want - don't want - care?

Your first lesson will consist of you being picked up driven to a quiet area, where you are then told the controls of the car.
Dont panic if you are seen to be a really nervous pupil an instructer is not going to put you or theirself in danger by saying heres the car keys get in and get on with it, i hope not any way!
The first lesson will continue with you actually starting the car, engaging first gear and pulling away, this is just to get you the feel of the car, you might even get to second gear depending how comfortable you become with the car.
You will make mistakes and it wont be anything the instructer has not seen before, so listen to what they have to say and have fun.
At the end of my block of driving lessons my driving instructer was happy enough to put the stereo on and even give extra time if he was not booked straight after, saved him being bored before his next pupil, so have fun and good luck.
