BMW vs Mercedes which is better?

It has to be one or the other! If theres no leaks on the ground or the radiator isn't full of oil, then it's going out the exhaust pipe!

You are like me. It may because the car is not being well maintance/tune up for a long period of time. So, it will use much more oil gas.

If you do not see external leakage, your issue is consumption. Oil consumption is most common on older engines and likely sources are valve stem seals, piston rings, etc. which are internal engine repairs and tend to be costly. However; a close inspection of the crank case ventilation system and proper function should be made prior to this judgment. Clogged air filters can cause oil consumption through an otherwise properly operating Positive Crankcase Ventilation (PCV) system.

You didn't say how many miles is on your vehicle but like the man said earlier, if it ain't leaking it then it's burning it. If it smokes on start up then the valve guide seals are worn but that won't account for a lot of oil usage. Run your finger around the inside of the tail pipe and see if there's an oily residue.if so it's burning it. You could also pull a spark plug and have a look...oil on the plug is a dead give away. If the car is high mileage like two of mine are then you may have success with a product called Restore. Wal-Mart carries it and I use it in a Suzuki Sidekick with 180K and a Mustang Cobra with 134K with no problems and increased miles per gallon.but neither one was a smoker or a user though. Hope this helps.

How much weight should a good bucket seat have?

Logic tells you that it has to be going somewhere. The engine is either burning it or it is dripping on the ground.

I have a good running 1988 Chevy Nova. I would like suggestions on how I can make this car a "sleeper".

You could have worn rings or leaky valve seals. We don't know the age or mileage of the car, so you'll have to use your judgment as to whether to take the car in or just live with it.
