I want a car that is simple (manual everything) cheap and easy to fix, reliable (doesn't break down) inexpensive to buy and will run 400,000 miles. I basically want a car that I rarely have to think about. What's out there?

I would stay with either GM products or Toyota. If you want it to last you need to keep up a good maintainance routine on the vehicle. Oil changes, tires, brakes tune ups and such are needed to keep a car running good for a long time.
