Looking to get my car repainted, Any suggestions?

Question:
I'm looking into getting my car repainted and I live In the Pittsburgh/Johnstown Area of Pennsylvania. I was looking for just a factory look again , nothing special. But I cant afford to spend thousands, any ideas or suggestions of body shops in or around these areas, even willing to travel to maryland to get it done for a decent price. Also color wise what paint color would be the cheapest to purchase and how much does it take to paint a whole car, I own a 03' eclipse gts. Any help is appreciated.

The most important thing about getting your car painted is this -you will get what you pay for. If someone low-balls you a price, be wary. Painting a car is a specialized skill, requiring quality tools, and premium finishes. A good question to a shop would be -"Do you have a down-draft spray booth?" That is the best type, and is half the battle. If you use the original color, you won't have to paint the door jambs, under the hood, trunk etc. Saving you $$$.

It shouldn't be that expensive, around $1000 give or take. Any higher than you are prob getting ripped. Then again it also depends on wether or not you are having the car sanded and stripped. If yes then that will cost a pretty penny to say the least! But it is the better way to go. As for the colors, red or pearl white.

if you put a bus engine in a mini and a good gearbox, what will happen?

Not a good idea to change the factory color of the car unless you totally don't care about future value. Why do you want to paint a car that is 4 yrs old

Are mud guards on cars REALLY Necessary?

You may want to do some of the sanding and other body work yourself, if you're capable (try one of the do-it-yourself books for guidance). Also, unless you really don't like it, paint the car the original color. Any color other than that means you will pay a lot more for the door jambs, trunk, under the hood--unless you want the car to look like you had a really cheap paint job done.
