This is a US to US transfer so you, thankfully, don't have to worry about customs and brokerage costs. One of my favourite US freight companies is Yellow Freight- they ship large cargo, like your car, and their rates are really competitive and good! Hercules is usually competitive for certain regions too. Try going to their sites- they usually either allow you to type in dimensions and weights (like your car) and give you accurate estimates before you open your wallet! Also, type in "freight companies" on the Internet and bring up a number of companies and do the same thing to compare them all to make sure you can get the best rate possible. Another trick: when you get a lower rate, you can also go back to the other companies to see if they can beat the quotes given to you by the other companies! There's no sense spending extra money for things like this when you can do the above procedures to reduce the costs and use the rest of the money that you expected to spend for other things- like celebrating the new move at a fancy Los Angeles restaurant or something else! Also keep in mind that there are two type of freight carriers- heavy- usually over 50lbs, and light- under 50 lbs. Heavy freight companies charge less for heavy loads than light freight companies- just imagine how much you would pay if you were to use Fed Ex or UPS to ship your car!
