I would also like to add that biodiesel is that it only as a shelf life of around 6 months. It has to be drained out of fuel tanks if the vehical is going to sit for months (tractors, combines). You also need to check your oil everyday to see if you haveantifreeze in your oil. As biodiesel will destroy the rubber o-rings in the valves. But overall a very good way to run your vehical if you are going to do it all the time.

I have lots of help. Biodiesel is made from any vegatable oil, and is cheaper and better for the enviornment than petrodiesel. You can make biodiesel yourself for only 70 cents per gallon with USED cooking oil. It just takes some time for the reactions. Biodiesel is about 10 percent less effecient than diesel, but is cheaper and easier to make. New diesel engines do not require any modification, older diesels you need to replace rubber hoses. Biodiesel will also increase the life of your engine because it acts as a lubricant also. There is a man who is driving his biodiesel powered vw golf with 400k+ miles on it. It also has nearly 0 emissions. I think biodiesel is awsome, and i wish america would embrace it because it could cut off our need for foriegn imported oil. The ONLY disadvange is that it gels in cold tempeture, however this is solved by mixing it with petrodiesel or getting a special starter to heat up the biodiesel

Another note- Rudolf Diesel, the inventor of the diesel engine, made his first diesel engine to run on peanut oil. He made this in the late 1800's, so the technology is not new at all just undiscovered.
