Your income doesn't have much to do with your vehicle. There are many out there who will go into debt because they simply "must have" this latest or greatest vehicle. Others who don't earn that much get a vehicle that is within their means, and personally, I am quite satisfied with what I drive. My current car cost the most of any car I have purchased, but it only had 55,500 miles on it when I got it. I paid $2,400 for it. My babes came by it's name because it needed some work and I decided it would be my bf replacement - someone to spend quality time with. My first two cars were three speed (automatic), three cylinder, geo metros (1 liter engine). Then I got my babes. Five speed, 2.2 liter engine, enough power to get on the freeway! (Before you condem the Metros, the five speed with good compression in each cylinder can do alright for getting on the freeway.) Once I started driving a car with a manual transmission I have decided I DO NOT want to go back to an automatic.
My babes and I had a good 33,000 or 36,000 miles together, then a deer ran in front of us and totaled it.
